Your
grandfather would be very proud of the things you have accomplished. I
can remember when you performed as a child at my dad's annual
meetings. You were great then and still are. Your cousin, Geraldine

Sally,
your album "Story Hour" is always nearby so I can put it on and listen
to you sing through some of the best songs I've heard in a while. Your
"Southbound Train" and "Heaven Can Wait" are two of my favorite
tracks. It's rare to find a CD so well put together, the only thing
that I'm sad about is that I didn't get to be part of the audience
while you performed this show. You've quickly become one of my
favorite vocalists, and I'm looking forward to getting your new CD. I
don't know if you read these things or even respond to them, but if
you do, please feel free to drop me a line. You have a wonderful and
expressive voice...I can get lost in it... :D Harry

I am a
student and I love to sing in my spare time. I recently heard your
performance of the song "He Ain't Mr. Right" and I absolutely fell in
love with it. I went to my local sheet music shop to try to get the
music, but it wasn't in print. Is there any way I could get my hands
on it? I practice singing it all the time on my cd and I would love to
be able to play it on my keyboard. Thank you very much!!!

I saw
you and George Dvorsky in Pete N Keely twice and the two of you are
just amazing! Your rendition of "Black Coffee" is superb and I hope
your performance, and George's too, get preserved on CD... Congrats on
the show's run and good luck to whatever endeavors come your way...

Hi
Sally--I saw you in "Pete N Keely" last night and wanted to tell you
how much I enjoyed your performance. David Unger, producer
extraordinaire is an old friend of mine and I'd been wanting to come
down and see the show for some time now. I'm glad I did! I grew up on
Steve and Eydie and that whole era and I think you all did a fantastic
job of recapturing that era. I was particularly im- pressed with the
precision with which you and the actor playing Pete coordinated your
"groovy Vegas phrasing" when you sang. It was a riot! You have a
wonderful voice and you now have a new fan. Best of luck to you in all
your future shows. I'll be watching! Jim Matthews

I saw
Pete and Keely last night (2/21) and it was so much fun! Sally is
incredible, as always, and it is such a treat to go see a performer
who sounds EXACTLY the same live as on their CD. Her version of "Black
Coffee" gives you goosebumps all over and I am so glad I had the
opportunity to see this show! Basically..Sally Mayes is a goddess!

Sally:
Saw P n K tonight and loved it! You were great. When you sang Black
Coffee it was fantastic! And Charo! I used to watch her on TV in the
60's as a child!!! She still looks great! Must be around 60-65 now I'm
guessing!? Now, also want to tell you we sort of worked together in
Chicago back in the late '70's! At Eugene's/Sage's across from the
Pump Room! You were doing Cabaret then alternating with Denise
Tomasello (sp?). I worked at Eugene's for a little over a year with
that psycho Sage. That's one the Earth doesn't miss... Well, it was
just great to see you perform here in NY. If you would like, maybe
drop me a line via Email or call the studio at 718-857-6007. Would be
nice to drink or a bite one of these days soon. You may wish to look
at my claytonartworks.com website to sort of check me out. You might
find the 100 Club section interesting as it shows a few of the
performers I've painted over the years. Great to see you're doing
great, looking great, and sounding great! All my best,

Sally,
I'm the one who brought you flowers Thursday evening... wearing the
"Welcome To The Club" button. You were the bright gem in that awful
show and I've been a fan ever since! I introduced you to my lover
Don... the only cast recordings he listens to are "Floyd Collins" and
"Das Barbecu" ( and with "Floyd Collins" he skips tracks! ). "Das
Barbecu" deserved a longer run and what a cast that show had! I love
all your recordings, especially your salute to Comden & Green ( two of
the nicest people in the theater! ). You and George are such a hoot as
Pete & Keely... the show merits repeat viewings! I wish you and your
husband all the best. You are such a talent and such a cutie!!!

Dear
Sally, I happen to be introduced to you via big fan of yours, your
father in-law Bob renino he is my clarinet teacher. I am a pediatric
emergency nurse at St.Luke's-Roosevelt hospital Center in manhattan (st.
Luke's site w113th). I started to take clarinet lesson to relieve the
stress of my job about 4 1/2 yrs ago. I live in Valley Cottage in
Rockland county and that is how I met the elder Bob Renino. He has
wonderfully introduced me to your music and I have enjoyed it
completely. I have your story hour cd and look forward to getting your
others. Music is one of my passion although I could not carry a tune
if it had a handle on it, but I do respect and applaud those who can.
I thankyou for talent and gift that you possess which brings my self
and others so much pleasure. I had planned to get to you date in
mamaraneck but do t and over filled Er I was unable to attend I look
for the next date that you are doing your caberet act. Bob says your
awesome live. I am trying to find a date for Pete & Keeley. Thanks
again. Tr

Hi! I
don't know if you really read these (or if this is a fan site or
something- if it is, good job, it's pretty elaborate). I'm a musical
theatre student at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in
New York City. It's my first semester, and as a song for my musical
theatre performance class I was assigned "Miss Byrd" from "Closer than
Ever." I ADORE it. It's a gift of a song to sing. I went out and
bought the album and was stunned at how flexiable your voice is. I'm
doing well with the song, but I'm a little iffy on the scat parts, I
still have a week to prepare it though, so I'm hoping to get it
together. (I'm a belter and my strong suit is my long low notes, so
the E at the end is a killer. :) Woah, I was just blown way off course
there. . .. I just wanted to drop you a line and compliment you on
your amazing voice. After hearing you in "CTE" I was surprised (in a
very good way) to hear about all of the other things you've done. A
couple of my friends and I are planning on trying to see you in

Miss
Mayes, You are just one of the most incredible talents of our
generation and it is always a supreme pleasure to watch you work your
fabulous magic onstage, where Broadway, Off Broadway or in cabaret. I
have learned so much from watching you perform that I could write a
book...I'm so delighted that your new show has taken off and become
such a huge hit and critical success...

found your website. :) Hope all is well and I look forward to getting
